Mayor John Schultz expressed “high expectations” at Tuesday night’s city council meeting when he talked about the city’s bid for a multimillion dollar Stellar Communities grant.
The city, one of 14 communities originally seeking the major grant, has made the final cut to six. The Stellar program involves the offices of Community and Rural Affairs, the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority and the Indiana Department of Transportation. The Stellar program is in its fourth year and in the past, two communities have been selected each year to receive the multimillion dollar grants.
