Kent C. Geisler

    Kent C. Geisler, 89 years old, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his residence.
    Kent was born on Saturday, December 1, 1923 in Willshire, Ohio to the late John C. and Bessie M. (Spaulding) Geisler.
    He married Mildred L. Rogers on February 5, 1949 in Covington, Ky.; she survives in Decatur.
    Kent was a graduate of Willshire High School and served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Decatur; Cornel/Eureka Masonic Lodge in Ohio City, Ohio; and the American Legion Post 43 in Decatur. He was a past commander of the American Legion Post 43 of Decatur and the Homer Pierson American Legion Post in Willshire, Ohio.
    He retired from Decorator Supply in Fort Wayne in 1987.
    Among survivors are his daughter, Jacqueline (Monty) Cochran of Cummings, Ga.; granddaughter, Casey (Shawn) Snipes of Tallahassee, Fla.; and great-granddaughter, Addison Snipes.
    Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, August 9, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, also at the funeral home, with Rev. Randy Rossman officiating.
    Burial will follow in the Willshire Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to Zion United Church of Christ or Family LifeCare of Berne.
