Katharina Lehr, 87, of Saratoga Springs, New York, a former Decatur resident, died at 1:25 a.m. Sunday in Saratoga Springs, where she had moved from Decatur in 2003 to live with her son.
She was born in Ukraine, then part of the Soviet Union, on April 26, 1924 to Johann and Sara Goertz Wiebe.
She married Waldemar Lehr in 1949 in Germany; he passed away in 1954.
Katharina had been employed by Decatur Novelty and retired in 1986. She was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Decatur.
Surviving are one son, Hans H.W. Lehr (and wife Susan) of Saratoga Springs; one grandson, Matthew Stuart Lehr (and wife Allison); one granddaughter, Mrs. E.J. (Kristin Heather) Anderson; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor David Koeneman officiating.
Burial will be in Immanual Lutheran Church's cemetery.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the church.
Preferred memorials are to St. Peter-Immanuel Lutheran School, rural Decatur.
