Judith A. Ehlerding, 70, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at her residence.
She was born in Celina, Ohio, on October 31, 1941, to Paul E. and Dorothy A. (Harlett) Froning.
On December 2, 1971, she married Frederick K. Ehlerding.
Judy was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and its Rosary Society.
She worked as a secretary for Paul Reidenbach in Decartur. She also had one of the first rural delivery routes for the Decatur Daily Democrat.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Frederick K. Ehlerding of Decatur; six children, Lisa (Chris) Westergren of Decatur; Mike (Steph) McIntyre of Ossian; Nancy McIntyre of Decatur; Duane (Dianna) Ehlerding of Decatur; Jayne (Ike) Longsworth of Rockford, Ohio; and Gerald Ehlerding of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 11, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home in Decatur, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the church. Father David Voors will be officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery of Decatur at a later date.
