Joyle J. Wilson, 91, a resident of Decatur the past six years, but formerly a lifelong resident of Wells County, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday in her residence at Evergreen Court Apartments.
She was born on February 3, 1920, in Wells County to Grover and Ida Vesta Sands Denney.
She married Ralph E. Wilson on January 20, 1940; he passed away on February 14, 2009.
She was a homemaker and a member of Living Faith Missionary Church in Yoder, at which she served in many positions, including Sunday School teacher and chorister.
She was a member of the Wells County Homemakers and the Wells County Chorus, holding numerous offices in both over the years.
Surviving are one son, Larry Wilson (and wife Jean) of Celina, Ohio; two grandsons, Randy Sipe of Decatur and Mark Wilson of Berne; five granddaughters, Mrs. Tom (Melissa) Rorick of Decatur; Mrs. Tony (Jani) Mann of Bluffton; Mrs. Tim (Diana) Osterhouse of Hamilton, Ohio; Mrs. Mark (Lori) Nevil of Wabash; and Mrs. Brent (Stephanie) Hiday of Bluffton; 22 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sunya Sue Sipe on October 18, 1995; a son, Denney Wilson on January 17, 1986; a granddaughter, Marcia Sipe, in August of 1961; a brother, Argend Denney; and a sister, Mary Beth "Betty" Martin.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Living Faith Missionary Church at Yoder, with Pastor Floyd Vieth officiating.
Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery at Ossian.
Visiting hours are 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday in the church.
