Jonas J. Graber

    Jonas J. Graber, Sr., 69, of rural Geneva passed away in his home at 11:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013. He was born on Feb. 26, 1944, in Adams County to the late Jonas and Margaret (Schwartz) Graber. He married Mattie Lambright on March 31, 1966. She survives.
    Jonas was an Old Order Amish and was Bishop of the East Church. He was a carpenter.
    Among survivors are nine daughters, Esther J. (Amos) Hilty and Martha J. ( Chris) Hilty, both of Geneva, Maggie J. (Amos) Schwartz and Mary J. (James) Hilty, both of Berne, Leah J. (Levi) Hilty, Edna J. (Lonnie) Hilty and Lovina (Jim) Hilty, all of Monroe, Lytia J. (Marlon) Schwartz of Decatur and Barbara J. (Chris) Schwartz of Bryant; six sons, Jonas J. (Carolyn) Graber Jr., Amos L. (Emma) Graber and John L. (Mary) Graber, all of Geneva, Alvin L. (Martha) Graber of Macy, Henry L. (Susan) Graber and Chris L. (Kathryn) Graber, both of Monroe; five brothers, David J. Graber Bryant, Amos J. (Amanda) of Berne, Chris J. (Mary) Graber, John J. (Barbara) Graber and Jake J. Graber, all of Geneva; six sisters, Leah (Joe) N. Schwartz, Emma (Joni) Hilty both of Geneva, Lydia (Elmer) A. Hilty and Lavina J. (Jacob Jr.) Hilty, both of Monroe, Maggie (Amos E.) Hilty of Bluffton and Mary (Martin H.) Schwartz of Berne; 115 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death a brother, Rueben J. Graber; and a grand daughter, Esther A.M. Graber.
    Funeral services were held on Friday Sept. 27. Burial was at Bunkerhill Cemetery in Berne.
    Arrangements were provided by Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne.
