Jolene Joy Heyerly, 62, a longtime resident of Decatur, met her heavenly Father at 11:40 p.m. Thursday at her residence.
She was born in Wells County to Bernarr (Red) and Mary Meyer Biddle, both deceased. She married David A. Heyerly on June 16, 1968, in the Assembly of God Church, Fort Wayne.
She attended the Decatur Church of God, where she served as a new member of the Assimilation Team. She was a member of the General Electric Quarter Century Club. She was a member of the first graduation class at Norwell High School in 1968.
She retired December 1, 2011, as an executive assistant from General Electric with 42 years of service.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Mark (Angela) Heyerly of Russell, Kentucky; a grandson, Jacob C. Heyerly of Russell, Kentucky; a brother, Thomas (Pam) Biddle of Big Long Lake, Indiana.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Decatur Church of God, Dr. Robert Brink and Pastor Sandy Hildebrand officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Visitation is 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home.
Preferred memorials are to the Family Aid Fund through the Decatur Church of God or the Faith Promise Fund through the Decatur Church of God.
