John W. Wittwer

    John W. Wittwer, 57, of Monroe, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at Bluffton Regional Hospital.
    John was born on August 24, 1955, in Decatur, to the late Wayne T. and Dolores M. (Beard) Wittwer.
    On May 31, 1974 he married Janice R. Ross; she survives in Monroe.
    John enjoyed spending time at Big Turkey Lake since 1966 with family and friends, boating, socializing, taking his grandson tubing and fishing, and watching the "grand dogs" swim. John also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandson and riding his Harley with his favorite accessory, his wife Janice. He loved John Deere tractors and his Hummer.
    He worked at Fleetwood for 37 years where he met and made many friends. In the end he fought leukemia for a year and a half and lost that battle.
    Among survivors are two daughters, Janet M. Wittwer (Chris Speelman) of Scott, Ohio, and Jamie R. (Brett) Melching of Monroe; grandson, Trace A.J. Melching; and brother, Larry W. Wittwer of Monroe.
    Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
    A private funeral service will be by invitation only on Saturday, June 29. Deacon Jerry Kohrman will preside.
    Preferred memorials are to Trace A.J. Melching Education Fund.
