Joan T. Heimann

    Joan T. Heimann, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community in Fort Wayne. 
    Born in Decatur, Joan worked with Southwick Cafeteria for 16 years before retiring in 1991. 
    She was a member of American Legion 296 Auxillary, St. Henry's Catholic Church and was involved in their choir. She and her husband were very active in the Star Craft Camping Club. She enjoyed dancing and crocheting, but most of all her family. She loved her children and cherished all of her grandchildren.  
    Among survivors are her loving husband, Robert E. Heimann, and her children: Kenneth R. Heimann of Lake Elsinore, Cali.; Kevin E. Heimann of Fairview, Pa.; Kris G. Heimann of Auburn; Kurt P. Heimann of Hoagland; Karen J. Hughes of Pleasant Lake; Kathryn S. Miller of Bunker Hill; Kim M. Wyss of Yoder; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers Donald Voglewede of New Haven; James A. Voglewede and Gerald L. Voglewede, both of Decatur; and sister Rosalie A. Gase of Decatur.
    Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary Voglewede; a brother John A. Voglewede; a sister, Mary Ann Nartker; and two grandchildren. 
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, at St. Henry Catholic Church with calling one hour prior. Fr. Daniel Durkin will be officiating.
    Visitation will be at St. Anne Home Chapel Monday April 9, from 1-2 p.m. Additional calling will be at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue Monday, April 9, from 4-8 p.m., with a rosary service at 5 p.m.  
    Entombment will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. 
    Preferred memorials may be made to St. Henry's Masses, the diabetes association or St. Anne Home.
