Joan Hodle, 86, of Decatur, died Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
She was born in Wells County on September 20, 1926, to the late Harold S. and Dorothy Elizabeth (Maddox) Nash Sr.
On February 14, 1946, she married Paul N. Hodle; he died on November 13, 1991.
Joan was a member of the Monroe United Brethren Church. She worked for Shaffer Glove Factory and Alma Plastics. She also delivered Fort Wayne newspapers in Monroe for several years.
Among survivors are five sons, Gary (Linda) Hodle of Bluffton; Charles (Marcia) Hodle of Hartselle, Ala; Roger (Donna) Hodle of Bluffton; Brent Hodle of Decatur; and Scott (Tammy) Hodle of Geneva; a daughter, Linda (Don) Fawcett; a brother, Wilmer (Alice) Nash of Bluffton; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Nash Jr.; and two sisters, Martha Salge and Nellie Hower Butcher.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 15, also at the funeral home, with calling one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Pastor Troy Green and Wes Kuntzman.
Burial will take place in Decatur Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the Monroe United Brethren or to Family Life Care (Hospice).
