With a Class A sectional championship and a winning season on the line, the Adams Central Flying Jets will seek on Friday to do what they have not done all year: beat a winning team.
The 6-5 Jets have recorded all their victories against schools with losing records: Union County, Blackford, Bluffton, Woodlan, Triton, and Fremont as they look to take down the favored North Miami squad.
The winning percentages of the two head coaches are almost identical: 50.5 for North Miami's Greg Miller (43-42 in eight years) and 53.1 for Central's Michael Mosser (17-15 in three years).
Overall, Central has 2,688 yards on the ground, while allowing 2,072.
In passing, Combs has thrown for 812 yards and nine touchdowns, with eight interceptions. Opponents have thrown for 1,312 yards and nine TDs, with six picks by the Jets.
The top receivers are senior end Ben Snider, with 14 catches for 197 yards and three TDs; Cauble, with 12 grabs for 154 yards; senior end Landon Brunner, with nine receptions for 177 yards and three scores; and sophomore Alex Byerly, with eight catches for 165 yards and a TD. Blake also has caught a TD pass and gained 84 yards and Sharp caught one toss for nine yards that was a touchdown.
