AUBURN—The Jets played their second game in as many days on Saturday after defeating the Woodlan Warriors handily the night before as they travelled to Auburn to take on the Lakewood Park Christian Panthers winning, 68-53.
There was a sense of "déjà vu" for AC as the game was very similar to the Woodlan game the night before in that the Jets played even with their competition in the first half, then had a strong third quarter and coasted in the fourth for the victory.
Jets' star senior Maverick Baumer was impressive once again for the Jets as he had a game-high 27 points on 9 of 15 shooting with five three pointers in the contest. Dalton Combs was also huge for AC as he finished with 20 points including a trio of three-pointers.
When asked when the last time the Jets posted two players with 20 or more points in a game, AC head coach Aaron McClure responded, "That's a good question I don't have the answer to. If I had to guess, I'd say the early 2000's when Adler and Garwood were on the floor together."
AC, now 6-1, will host county-rival Bellmont at the Hangar on December 27. JV will start at 6 p.m.
