Adams Central came through the day unscathed, taking out Bishop Dwenger and four other squads to go 5-0 in the first annual Adams Central Super Duals.
"We hadn't beaten Bishop Dwenger in a long time, so it was a big win for us," stated Adams Central coach Doug Schultz on the 37-33 victory over the Saints.
"We had the two forfeits and they had a solid team all the way across, so we had our work cut out for us, but the kids came through," said Schultz.
The victory wasn't iced until Josh Schwartz at 130 downed Alex McDonaly,7-1, giving the Jets a 37-30 lead. Michael Nix held off AC's Zac Yoder 7-5 in the last  match to make it close.
Schultz felt the 45-32 win over Jay County was also big for his squad. "We had beaten them pretty badly earlier in the year, but they've improved a lot and gave us a battle," said the coach.
"Three sophomores came through for us in that meet with wins we had to have," said Schultz, mentioning  Derek Ellinger at 125, Schwartz at 120 and Zac Yoder at 135. All three scored falls for the Jets in the team win.
Chantz Luginbill, Derek Roe, Adam Cook, and Josh Thieme all scored falls for the Jets in the win over Southwood, while Thieme's lasted only 17 seconds.
Jarod Schwartz scored a tech fall while Zeke Schultz won 9-1 over Dillon Derrickson.
In the 45-27 win over Southwood, all three sophomores won also. Roe, Josh Thieme, Ellinger and Schultz scored falls. Yoder downed Nick Striker 3-2.
The Jets slammed Bluffton 57-3, and downed Northrop 54-18. Ellinger, Josh Schwartz, Blake Thieme and Schultz all had falls, while Roe, Luginbill and Jarod Schwartz all had tech falls.  Yoder won 4-3 over David Wilde.
Schultz noted that Zeke Schultz, Roe,, Jarod Schwartz, Luginbill and Ellinger all went 5-0 on the day.
"It wasn't the strongest meet around, but we had the solid win over Dwenger," said Schultz.
Setting up Josh Schwartz in that match were wins by Cook in 1:15, Roe 21-5 and Ellinger, 14-9. Blake Thieme had a 1-0 win over Coonan. Zeke earned a tech fall, while Jarod Schwartz and Luginbill added pins for the Jets.
The Jets are now 22-5 with the victories. Central travels to Warren Central for a tough Super Dual this Saturday.
