Jets handle Churubusco in three straight
Adams Central got back on the winning track in varsity volleyball Monday evening with a three-game sweep of Churubusco 25-9, 25-17, 25-16.

The Jets, now 3-5 on the season, used a 13-kill, four-ace, five-dig performance from Bess Fiechter to key the victory. Senior setter Alyssa Keller also starred with 21 assists, 14 digs and two assisted blocks.
Abbey Lichtle turned in five kills, four assisted blocks, six digs and one assist, while Whittney Peterson had three kills, four assisted blocks, three digs and an assist, Jenny Schultz added one ace and one dig, Alex Baller had three digs, Liz Luginbill scooped up six digs, Abby Snyder had two aces and four digs, Chelsie Eads finished with five kills and one assisted block and dig, and Haley Gross was credited with three assisted blocks, one assist, and four kills.
Heather Monk and Danielle Pippenger both had four kills in the match for Churubusco while Lacey Pulley had 15 digs and Brooke Herendeen had five assists.
The Adams Central reserve team hiked its slate to 6-3 with a 25-15, 25-10 triumph over the Eagles as well.
Kaitlin Carroll had seven digs, six kills and two aces, Madi Schwartz delivered 17 assists, two aces and kills and three digs, Jenny Schultz scored three kills and aces, two digs and an assist, Jen Kahlert ended up with five kills and two assists, Sam Fisher tallied three digs and one ace and kill, Kelsey Pritchard had five kills and an assist, Meghan Manley had three kills, two digs and one ace, and Kaitlyn Johnson had one kill.
The Jets are back in action Thursday at Bishop Luers with the JV match beginning at 6 p.m.
