Jets 10-run Southern Wells

MONROE—The Jets started their conference schedule on the right foot by hosting Southern Wells and earning a convincing 10-0 victory thanks to a one-hit shutout hurled by junior Isaac Luginbill.
"Isaac pitched a whale of a game!" praised AC coach Dave Neuenschwander.
The junior struck out nine Raiders in the game and only gave up one base runner in six innings. The base runner was Southern Wells' one and only hit of the game by their starting pitcher, Miller, who was promptly picked off of first base by Luginbill before the Raiders were too comfortable about having someone on base.
The Jets' offense started slow as there was no score until the bottom of the fourth, but the juices started flowing with AC tallying three in the fourth frame, six in the fifth, and the tenth run coming in the sixth to end the game with a mercy rule.
AC will host Monroe Central for a doubleheader on Saturday with game one starting at 10 a.m.
