    Jessie E. Bowers, 83, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2011, at Kingston Residence in Fort Wayne.
    She was born on June 17, 1927 in Stigles, Oklahoma.
    Surviving relatives include her children, Roxanne Chilcote and Vicki Frances of Fort Wayne and Barbara Hirschy of Decatur; siblings Walter Holloway, Clare Hanthorne, and Gert Bowser; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Bowers; a daughter, Teresa Bowers; a son, Steven Bowers; three grandsons; one great-granddaughter; four brothers; and four sisters.
    A funeral service will be held at 1 a.m. on Saturday May 28, 2011, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior.
    Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2011, at the funeral home.
    Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, to fight amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or to the Indiana Coalition against Domestic Violence, 1915 W. 18th St., # B, Indianapolis, IN, 46202-1002.
