Jerry J. Kitterman

    Jerry J. Kitterman, 69, Montpelier, passed away at 8:22 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at IU Health Blackford Hospital in Hartford City.
    He was born on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 1944, in Bluffton to the late Robert and R. Jeanette (Ducy) Kitterman.
    Jerry was a graduate of Montpelier High School and was an U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1965-71. He worked as a mechanic and welder for Dierkes Implement in Decatur and Applegate Steel in Saratoga. Jerry enjoyed metal working, reading, trains, watching Fox News, House and The History Channel.
    Survivors include his wife Barb (Jordan) Kitterman, Montpelier; two daughters, Melissa (Fiance, Mark Bean) Smith and Niki Moriarity, both of Montpelier; three sons, Rickey Moriarity and Allen Moriarity, both of Montpelier and Jerry Simpson, Marion; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his first wife Marilyn (Jamison) Kitterman on Jan. 31, 1987.
    Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday and from 10-11:30 a.m. on Friday at Walker and Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W Windsor St., Montpelier.
    Funeral services to celebrate Jerry’s life will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday also at the funeral home with Rev. Dewey Zent officiating.
     Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery, Montpelier with graveside Military Rites conducted by the US Army.
     Preferred memorials are to Montpelier Harrison Township Public Library, 301 S. Main St.  Montpelier.                          
     Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, Montpelier.
