Janet K. McAlhaney, 63, of Monroe, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012, in the Extended Care Unit of Woodcrest.
She was born in Decatur on March 16, 1949, to the late Denver Jack and Bernice (Fennel) Gray.
On August 29, 1969, she married Leland McAlhaney; he survives in Monroe.
Janet was a member of The Bridge Community Church in Decatur and had retired from Woodcrest.
Among survivors are four sons, John McAlhaney of Monroe, Jim (Michelle) McAlhaney and Joe McAlhaney both of Decatur, and Jason (Amber) McAlhaney of Berne; a daughter, Lori (Mike) Houser of Decatur; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, with visitation one hour prior to services at The Bridge Community Church, with Pastor Mo Hodge officiating.
Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery.
