James W. Lough

    James W. Lough, 86, of Decatur, died on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    James was born in Adams County on July 9, 1924, to Frank and Cora (White) Lough.
    On October 16, 1948, he married Mary J. Garner.
    James worked as a tool and die maker for Gilpin's Ironworks in Decatur.
    He also served his country in the South Pacific during World War II with the United States Marines.
    He was a member of Eagles Lodge 2653 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6236, both in Decatur.
    Survivors include his wife, Mary J. Lough of Decatur; two sons, Roger L. (companion Tammy) Lough and Ronald J. (Deanna) Lough of Decatur; two daughters, Debbie Cummings and Susan “Sue” Lough of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
    James was preceded in death by seven brothers and six sisters.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home in Decatur, with visitation from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Pastor Rex Grant will be officiating.
    Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 43's color guard.
    Memorials are to the Lung Angel Fund within the Adams County Community Foundation.
