James V. Brazill

    James V. Brazill, Sr., 81, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community in Fort Wayne.
    He was born in Saint Louis, Mo., to the late Patrick J. and Katherine L. Brazill.
    James worked as an area manager with Miller Brewing Company for 20 years, retiring in 1988. He was also an associate with Mungovan and Sons Funeral Home for 12 years. Jim was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Life Member of BPO Elks, and Knights of Columbus, 4th degree.
    Among survivors are two sons, Patrick S. (Julie) Brazill of Indianapolis and Michael J. Brazill of Decatur; three daughters, Theresa F. (John) Amstutz of Geneva, Katherine A. (Alan) Foreman, and Susan Marie (Mark) McDonald, both of Decatur; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a companion, Sonia A. Schmidt of Fort Wayne.
    Jim was preceded in death by three sons, Christopher R., James V., and Timothy P. Brazill; and a brother, John Brazill.
    Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 1, at Mungovan and Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 South Calhoun Street, with the rosary at 3:30 p.m.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, at St. Peter Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior.  Rev. Phillip A. Widmann will officiate.
    Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Churubusco.
    Preferred memorials are to St. Peter Catholic Church.
