    Jacqueline “Jackie” Smith, 85, of Decatur, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
    Jackie was born in Wells County on September 3, 1927, to the late Wayne M. and Martha V. (Rowe) Huffman.
    She married William A. “Bill” Smith on June 17, 1951; he survives in Decatur.
    Jackie was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and active in United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Tri Kappa Sorority and was an avid reader and traveler. She was a home economics teacher for East Allen County Schools.
    Among survivors are her son, Ben (Julie) Smith of Fort Wayne; daughter, Angie (Scott) Springer of New Haven; two brothers, Tom (Jo) Huffman of Fort Wayne, and Tim (Shelley) Huffman of Liberty Center; four grandchildren, Amy Guest, Hannah Springer, and Johanna and Grant Smith.
    She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Guest.
    Visitation will be Friday, January 11, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at Woodcrest Porter Auditorium, and 5-8 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, with Rev. Michael Heinbaugh officiating.
    Preferred memorials are to Riley Children’s Hospital.
