Ivan Wyer, 87, of Willshire, Ohio, passed away at 7:56 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Van Wert Hospice in Van Wert, Ohio.
Ivan married Joan Newlin on February 15, 1947, in Willshire; she survives in Willshire.
He served as Second District Commander and Assistant Sergeant of Arms for the Department of Ohio. Beginning in 1943, Ivan served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II and during the Korean Conflict.
Among survivors are his daughter, Candy (Dr. Daryl) Osborn of Wapakoneta, Ohio; granddaughter, Tracy (Joe) Albridge of Charlotte, N.C.; and great-grandson, Peyton Albridge of Charlotte, N.C.
Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, and noon-1 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Willshire Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center or Wren EMS.
