Isch to be the grand marshall of parade
Larry Isch, recently retired from First Bank of Berne, has been selected as the 2010 Callithumpian Parade Grand Marshall.
Isch has been a member of the parade committee for 35 years and works diligently to make the parade a success, the Calllithumpian Committee said in making the announcement.
He was the recipient of the 2009 Service Award from the Callithumpian Committee.
President of the Decatur Parks and Recreation Board and treasurer of the Adams Wells Crisis Center, Isch os a member of the following: Adams County Healthy Families, Decatur Comprehensive Plan Committee, United Way of Adams County (advisory), and president of the Worthman Scholarship Committee.
He previously served 18 years on the North Adams School Board, was chairman of the Decatur Sesquicentennial Committee in 1986, a former treasurer of Decatur Operation Help. He was president of the Adams County Heart Club and The Adams County Cancer Board, co-chaired the fund drive to complete the Strickler Cancer Institute at Adams Memorial Hospital, and has been a leader in many other local fund drives, the committee said.
Isch is the son of Paul and Opal (Lillich) and is the father of two children, Chad E. Isch, Atlanta, Georgia, and Leslie (Ryan) Salway of Decatur, and has two granddaughters, Megan and Brooklyn Salway. He also has four brothers; Fred (who served 20 years as mayor of Decatur), Hubert and John, all of Decatur, and David of Winter Haven, Florida.
He graduated from Decatur High School and attended International Business College, The American Bankers Trust School and the Bankers Administration Institute with certificates in Basic, Standard and Advanced.
