Irene M. Grove

    Irene M. Grove, 90, Decatur, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at her residence.
    She was born May 5, 1923, in Decatur to the late Jacob C. and Frances V. (Miller) Heimann.
    She married Gerald E. Grove Aug. 24, 1946; he died Jan. 10, 2000.
    Irene was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Women of St. Mary’s. She was a lifelong homemaker.
    She is survived by three sons, Gary (Karla) Grove of Decatur, James (Sonja Roe) Grove of Hudson and Bob Grove of Decatur; five daughters, Barbara (Kevin) Martin of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Marilyn (Kerry) Uhrick of Sevierville, Tenn., Jane (Bob) McCoy of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joyce Inniger and Pat (Larry) Bracey both of Decatur; two sisters, Mary (Bill) Lichtle and Rita Gerber, both of Decatur; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a son, Ron; a daughter, Bev; three brothers, and five sisters.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father David Voors presiding. 
    Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2–7 p.m. Sunday at Haggard – Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 1:30 p.m. and from 9-10 a.m. at the church hall.
Preferred memorials may be made to the ACCF Angel Cancer Fund or to Masses.
