Irene J. Lloyd, 60, of Decatur, died on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Irene was born on October 24, 1950, in Decatur to Paul and Clara (High) Hindenlang, who are deceased.
She married James M. Lloyd on November 1, 1968.
Irene was a member of Mt. Zion United Brethren in Christ Church, was involved in its Women’s Missionary Fellowship, and was an assistant song leader.
She also worked for 17 years at Golden Meadows Home as a cook and in the laundry.
She is survived by her husband, James M. Lloyd of Decatur; three sons, James J. (Bonnie) Lloyd of Willshire, Ohio, and Jereme J. Lloyd and Theodore J. (Elizabeth) Lloyd, both of Decatur; a daughter, Jennifer J. Gonzalez of Decatur; two brothers, Larry (Helen) Hindenlang of Fort Wayne and Gary (Gina) Hindenlang of Willshire; four sisters, Mrs. Shirley (Terry) King of DeGrass, Ohio, and Louise Ray, Mrs. Kate (Robert) Counterman, and Mrs. Diana (Michael) Bauman, all of Decatur; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be on Monday, September 19, 2011, at 10 a.m. in Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home of Decatur, with Pastor Chris Moore officiating.
Visitation is 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2011, at the funeral home and one hour before the funeral service.
Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, rural Decatur.
Memorials are to Mt. Zion Brethren in Christ Church, to James Whitcomb Riley Children’s Hospital at Indianapolis or to the Ronald McDonald House at Indianapolis.
