Information on fugitive sought

    Adams County Crime Stoppers is seeking the assistance of the public in locating a fugitive from justice.
    In late 2004 or early 2005, Steven Eric Huffman allegedly opened checking and savings accounts at First Bank of Berne, MidWest America Federal Credit Union, and MarkleBank, depositing just enough money to open the accounts, according to Crime Stoppers.
     Huffman then allegedly withdrew large amounts of sums from the accounts by cashing checks with the other banks or depositing checks in other bank accounts and withdrawing cash, even though there was no money in the accounts    The 45-year-old Huffman is six feet tall and weighs 190 pounds. He has tattoos of a “Cross with a heart” on his right arm and “Heart” on his left arm.
    Huffman is wanted in Adams and Wells counties for felony fraud on a Financial institution.

    "Crime Stoppers provides a means of communication for members of the public to anonymously provide law enforcement agencies with information on crimes or crime suspects. Tipsters can provide information without revealing their identity and anonymity is guaranteed," the announcement said.
