Info sought on Walmart thefts

December 14, 2012

Adams County Crime Stoppers is seeking the help of the public in securing leads that will help police solve a theft that occurred at the Decatur Walmart on November 27.
Police said that at 8:47 p.m. on November 27, a Penske moving van entered the Walmart parking lot and drove up to a secured fence area by the Tire and Lube Express entrance. Two people got out of the truck and one of them cut the lock off the fence door.
The individuals then allegedly stole nearly 50 used batteries valued at approximately $500, authorities said.
Any individual with information about this theft is asked to call Crime Stoppers:(260) 692-2882; submit a web tip at www.adamscountycrimestoppers.com; or call the Decatur Police Department detective division at 724-8646.
CrimeStoppers provides a means by which members of the general public may provide anonymous information to law enforcement on crimes or suspects. People need not reveal their name and anonymity is guaranteed, the announcement said.
