Ida M. Brodbeck

    Ida May (Adams) Fisher Brodbeck, 83, of Decatur, went to be with the Lord at 2:20 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2010, at her residence after two months of hospitalization in Fort Wayne.
    She was born on July 24, 1927, to George and Callie (Gross) Adams in West Liberty, Kentucky.
    She married William “Bill” Fisher on December 20, 1947; he passed away on December 14, 1988. On June 6, 1992, she married Walter I. “Ike” Brodbeck; he survives in Decatur.
    She is also survived by a daughter, Karen K. (Richard) Kraner of Glenmore, Ohio; two sons, Richard W. (Karen) Fisher of Decatur and Jerry L. (Vicki) Fisher of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel (Charles) Hamrick of Decatur, Ina Friedt of Decatur, and Reva Davis of Fairborn, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by one sister, Lorene Caskey, and her four brothers, George Jr., Orlon, Jesse, and William Adams.
    Ida was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Decatur.
    She retired from Central Soya Bag Service in Decatur in 1979 after 30 years of service.
    Her biggest joys in life were her children and grandchildren.
    Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home in Decatur and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Cornerstone Community Church in Decatur, with Rev. Floyd Vieth and Rev. Mark Beers officiating.
    Burial will take place in Decatur Cemetery.
    Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Community Church, to Family Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeast Indiana at Berne, or to Tri-County Dialysis.
