Ida L. Hodge

    Ida L. Hodge, 93, of Evansville, Ind., formerly of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville.
    Ida was born on December 8, 1919, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to the late E.A. and Frances E. (Tomlinson) O’Dell.
    On January 21, 1943, she married Aaron S. Hodge, Jr.; he preceded her in death on April 9, 2010.
    Ida served as pastor of the Church of God in Flat, Mo., for nine years and Zion Community Church of God in Ottumwa, Iowa for eight years. A graduate of Winona High School in Winona, Mo., she was always a learner, taking many classes of continuing education. Ida was a faithful wife and mother, invested in the lives of others as a leader in the local church and was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.
    Among survivors are her son, Maurice "Mo" (Nancy) Hodge of Decatur; daughter, Mary Lou (Dave) Lloyd of Evansville; sister, Lois Yates; four grandchildren, Audra Hodge (Justin) Kauffman, Jonathan (Michelle) Lloyd, Jared (Renee) Hodge, and Matt (Promise) Lloyd; and two great-grandsons, Daniel and James Kauffman.
    Ida was preceded in death by two brothers, Morris and Paul O’Dell.
    Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, July 14, and from 9-10 a.m. Monday, July 15, at The Bridge Community Church in Decatur.
    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, also at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Mo Hodge and Pastor Kenneth Mishler.
    Burial will be in Ray Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to The Bridge Community Church.
    Arrangements are being handled by Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
