Hubert L. Feasel

    Hubert L. Feasel, 84, of Decatur, died Friday, December 7, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    Hubert was born in Allen County on March 2, 1928, to the late Heber L. and D. Mildred (Smitley) Feasel.
    He married Leona E. Trump on December 24, 1950; she preceded him in death on February 23, 2004.
    Hubert was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and was an Art Educator for 35 years. He served in the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He was a life member of D.A.V.,  of which he was a past commander. He also was past president of Adams County Art Association, and a member of North Adams Teachers Association and Adams County Retired Teachers.
    He was a member of the American Legion Post 43, Elks Lodge and Delta Phi Delta Fraternity, and a past member of Decatur Rotary Club, of which he was a Paul Harris Fellow. His hobbies included geneology, oil painting and gardening of orchids.
    Among survivors are his sons, Timothy H. (Alice) Feasel of Fort Wayne, and Jeffery L. (Theresa) Feasel of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Victoria A. (Don) Chambers of Lafayette, and Susan L. (Martin) Burgan of Bluffton; a sister, Eloise (William) Arnold of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Cameron Chambers, Courtney (Chambers) Johnson, Betsy (Burgan) Gerber, Matt Burgan, Sarah Feasel, Abby Burgan, and Adam Feasel; step-granddaughters, Jo Ann Wall-Beer, Marie Wall Jewett and Nicole Wall; and 11 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Billie Joe.
    Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Monday, December 10, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, at St. Mark’s United Methodist church, with calling one hour prior to services. Rev. Michael Heinbaugh will be officiating.
    Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 43.
    Preferred memorials are to ACCF Trump-Feasel Scholarship Fund or St. Mark’s UMC.
