Hospital falls into the red for July

    After several continuous months of positives balances at the end of the month, the Adams Memorial Hospital (AMH) bottom line was $35,807 in the red at the end of July, according to a statement released Wednesday at the monthly meeting of the Adams Health Network (AHN) Board of Trustees.
    Dane Wheeler, chief financial officer for the AHN, told trustees that "recent months have been less than stellar, obviously, and although we're slightly in the red now, the last week or so at the hospital has started to show signs that we're coming out of it."
    The money sheet at the end of July showed expenses of $24,172,071, with total operation revenue or $23,347,460 and non-operating revenue of $788,804 — which put the $35,807 figure in play.
