Hoagland Days opens Thursday

    Hoagland Days opens Thursday and will run through Saturday in Hoagland Park, sponsored by the Hoagland-Area Advancement Association.    
    The schedule:
    Thursday, June 16
    Merchants' tent open during fair hours.
    4:30-6:30 p.m.—Registration for the greased pig contest at the park arena area.
    5-10 p.m.—Food court open in the food tent.
    6 p.m.—Midway rides operate.
    6 p.m.—Introduction of prince and princess candidates in the entertainment tent.
    6 p.m.—Bingo in the bingo tent.
    6-7 p.m.—Students in Razz 'm Jazz dance studio at Decatur perform in the entertainment tent.
    6:30 p.m.—Adult beverage tent open.
    7 p.m.—Greased pig contest in the park arena tent.
    7-8 p.m.—Concert by a group called Outa Sight in the entertainment tent.
    8-11 p.m.—Concert by Biff and the Cruisers in the entertainment tent.
    Friday, June 17
    Merchants' tent open during fair hours.
    5-11 p.m.—Food court open.
    5-8 p.m.—Fish and tenderloin meals in the park pavilion.
    6 p.m.—Bingo in the bingo tent.
    6 p.m.—Rides on the midway.
    6 p.m.—Crowning the prince and princess in the entertainment tent.
    6:30 p.m.—Adult beverage tent open.
    7-8 p.m.—Performance by Kekionga Steel Drumz of Fort Wayne in the entertainment tent.
    7:30 p.m.—Demolition derby in the park arena area.
    8 p.m.—Performance by Decatur Dance Academy students in the entertainment tent.
    9 p.m.-midnight—Concert by country music band Sierra Shane on the dance floor
    Saturday, June 18
    Merchants' tent open during fair hours.
    8 a.m.—Volleyball tourney at the ball diamond.
    9 a.m.-6 p.m.—Silent auction at the fire station.
    11 a.m.—Parade, with the theme "Celebrating Good Neighbors."
    Noon-10:30 p.m.—Bingo in the bingo tent.
    Noon-10:30 p.m.—Rides in the midway.
    Noon-10:30 p.m.—Food court open.
    Noon-1:30 p.m.—Registration for kids' pedal tractor pull on the dental office parking lot.
    12:30 p.m.—Children's games in the entertainment tent.
    1:30 p.m.—Auction at the fire station.
    1:30 p.m.—Kids' pedal tractor pull on the dental office parking lot.
    2 p.m.—Euchre tourney in the pavilion.
    4 p.m.—Dachshund Dash on the dental office parking lot.
    5-8 p.m.—Barbecued chicken dinners in the pavilion.
    5 p.m.—Adult beverage tent open.
    6-7 p.m.—Diva Danceworks performance in the entertainment tent.
    7-8 p.m.—Mark's Ark in the entertainment tent.
    7:30 p.m.—Demolition derby in the park arena area.
    8-9 p.m.—Sweetcakes comedy show in the entertainment tent.
    9 p.m.-midnight—Unlucky Alibi concert in the entertainment tent.
    9 p.m.—Merchants' drawing; the winner does not have to be present.
    11:15 p.m.—Raffle drawings; winners do not have to be present.
