Helen L. Cooper

    Helen L. Cooper, 58, of Decatur passed away at 2:41 a.m. on  Tuesday, September 10, 2013, on U.S. Hwy 33 in Decatur.
    She was born in Dull Town, Ohio, on Monday, September 13, 1954, to William Kahn and the late Laura (Germann) Kahn.
    She married the late Jerry Cooper on November 14, 1986. He passed away in January 2009.
    Helen and her husband, Jerry, farmed in Van Wert County and operated Horse Around Town Carriage Rides in Van Wert.
    She and her husband celebrated with their family 50 years of marriage on Sunday, September 1.
    Among survivors are her father, William Kahn of Decatur; four brothers, Robert L. (Jana) Shaffer of Geneva, William H. Kahn Jr. of Fort Wayne, Larry T. Kahn of Indianapolis, and Charles (Penny) Kahn of Decatur; and two sisters, Dianna (Michael) Tewell of Fort Wayne and Nancy (Everett) Colwell of Decatur. 
    She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph Kahn, Terry Kahn, and Greg Shaffer.
    Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.
     Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 13, at the funeral home. Pastor Bill Royse will be officiating.
    Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to the Riley Children's Hospital.
