Helen F. Nahrwold

    Helen F. Nahrwold passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at the age of, 91, in Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center.
    She was born on April 5, 1920, in Adams County to John and Amanda (Bleeke) Heuer.
    She attended Monmouth High School and graduated in 1938.
    Her marriage on June 22, 1946, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church (Fuelling) in Adams County was to Carl W. Nahrwold, who died on April 9, 1994.
    Helen worked as a homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, near Ossian, and the church’s Ladies Aid Society.
    She is survived by her three children, Colleen (Tom) Patrick of Ossian; Dr. Cynthia Nahrwold of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Michael (Kathy) Nahrwold of Ossian; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing by a sister, Florence (Heuer) Matthews.
    A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2011, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 6514 E. County Rd. 750 North, rural Ossian, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation hours will be from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2011, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian.
    Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church for the building fund or to the "Worship for Shut-Ins" program.
