Harry Thornburg

    Harry "Dave" Thornburg, 77, of Decatur, died at 12:05 p.m. Thursday in Adams Memorial Hospital.
    He was born on April 22, 1933, in Kentucky to Herbert and Bethel Montjoy Thornburg.
    He married Marie LaTurner Yoder on August 8, 1976, in Wolcottville, Indiana, and she survives.
    He owned Dave's Tree Service from 1959-79 and was a truck driver for Florida Propane Service until retiring in 1996.
    He served in the U.S. Army from 1949-52 and in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-54. He was a member of the American Legion Post 43 in Decatur.
    Other survivors are two sons, Harry David Thornburg of Alaska and David Lee Thornburg of Bluffton; a stepson, Jeff Yoder (and wife Linda) of Decatur; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Jim (Carolyn) Bauman of Monroe, Cathy Plasterer of Decatur, and Mrs. Jim (Karen) Crandall of Columbia City; one sister, Mrs, Charles (Lonnie) Patterson of Dunkirk; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
    One stepdaughter, Vicki Hurst, died in 1977 and a sister, EtaMae Phillips, is also deceased.
    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Goodwin Memorial Chapel at Bluffton, with burial in IOOF Cemetery at Dunkirk, including military graveside rites at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
    Visiting hours are 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday in Goodwin Memorial Chapel, 3220 E. State Rd. 124, Bluffton.
    Preferred memorials are to his family.
