Harriet Ruth Seaman, 92, of Decatur, passed away at 4:40 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2012, in the Woodcrest Nursing Center.
Ruth was born on Friday, November 21, 1919, in Huntington, the daughter of the late Harvey R. and Gertrude B. (Aker) Clark.
She married the late Wendell J. Seaman on December 15, 1939, in Markle; he passed away on January 6, 2011.
Ruth was a member of the St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Decatur, where she was a member of the Martha Circle. Ruth was a cook at Monmouth Elementary School for 28 years, retiring on November 21, 1979, and was also a homemaker.
Among survivors are her daughter, Ann (Dan) Bieberich of Decatur; granddaughter, Lisa (Marlin) Scheumann of Decatur; granddaughter, Lana (Sam) Griffiths of Decatur; brother, Ross (Jackie) Clark of Greenfield, Ohio; brother, Dale (Stella) Clark of Andrews; brother, Joe Clark of Andrews; sister, Mildred Tullis of Orland; four great-grandchildren, Emily (Adam) Minnich, Natalie (Stuart) Aspy, Kaylee Scheumann, and Benton Griffiths; and one great-great-grandson, Clayton Minnich.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Fred, Max, Robert, Don, and Jim Clark; and one sister, Margaret Rhinesmith.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, in the Woodcrest Chapel, and 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, in St. Mark's United Methodist Church, with Pastor Michael Heinbaugh officiating.
Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to St. Mark's U.M. or Family LifeCare of Berne.
