Harold J. Feasby

    Harold J. Feasby, 94, of Van Wert, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
    He was born February 3, 1919, in Tully Township to the late Willis K. and Othal (Foley) Feasby.
    Harold married June Violet Gipe on May 16, 1942; she preceded him in death on December 20, 2010.
    He retired in 1981 from Federal Mogul Corp. after 36 years of service. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sebring, Fla. He was a 1937 graduate of Convoy High School, World War II veteran of the Army Air Force, member of American Legion Post 178 of Van Wert for 70 years, member of the Veteran's Club of Federal Mogul, and former member of National Horseshoe Pitchers Association.
    Among survivors are two half-sisters, Cleotha Hart and Donna (Leo) Martin, both of Monroeville; two half-brothers, John (Glenna) Feasby of Fort Wayne and Wayne Feasby of Payne, Ohio; sister-in-law, Sharon Feasby of Antwerp, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
    Harold was preceded in death by a daughter in 1944 in Waco, Texas; stepmother, Myrtle (Baker) Feasby; two half-brothers, Paul and Jerry Feasby; half-sister, Opal Marquardt; and sister-in-law, Jean Feasby.
    Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. on Friday, March 1, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert.
    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, also at the funeral home, with Rev. Denny Feasby officiating, and a military service by the combined honor guard of the American Legion and VFW posts of Van Wert.
    Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to Van Wert American Legion Post 178.
