Halloween events planned in Berne

The annual Halloween parade is a go in Berne now that city council has approved the request for road closures, additional police support and all the loose ends that go with putting on the annual event.
The Halloween parade will be held Oct. 29, a day after the annual Callithumpian parade in Decatur.     Several Halloween events were approved during the Monday meeting:
• During the parade Main Street will be closed to traffic and Berne police will provide additional support for the event.
• The annual Halloween costume contest will once again be held at Town Hall and will be judged by the Swiss Red Hatters.
• Trick-or-treat night will be held Oct. 31, and treats will once again be available at Muensterberg Plaza.
