Gregory A. Shaneyfelt

    Gregory Alan Shaneyfelt, 55, of Geneva, passed away resting comfortably with friends and family by his side at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at his residence.
    Greg was born in Portland on September 19, 1957.
    He married Wanda (Overla) Shaneyfelt on Saturday, June 27, 2009; she survives in Geneva.
    Greg graduated in 1975 from the Portland High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for six years and then served in the National Guard for 10 years. Greg worked at Poet Bio Refining in Portland. He was a metal fabricator by trade and all around handyman. He loved canoeing, fishing and collecting treasure. He was an avid Colts fan.
    Among survivors are two sons, Geoffrey (Cathy) Shaneyfelt of Fort Bragg, N.C., and Matt (Kelly) Clevenger) of Celina, Ohio; two daughters, Miranda Shaneyfelt of Dayton, Ohio, and Sue Clevenger of Lima, Ohio; father, Dennis (Ruby) Shaneyfelt of Portland; mother, Susie (Mike) Martin of Portland; four brothers, Leslie (Julie) Shaneyfelt of Berne, Brent Shaneyfelt of Anderson, Brian (Kim) Shaneyfelt of Wabash, and Billy (Samantha) McAbee of Portland; two sisters, Kris (Keven) Woodbury and Angie Davidson, both of Portland; several nieces and nephews, and 10 grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his sister, Julia Shaneyfelt.
    Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, also at the funeral home.
    Preferred memorials are to the family in care of the funeral home.
