Grace McBride, 91, of Portland, passed away on Monday morning at her residence.
She was born in Chattanooga, Ohio, on November 14, 1918, the daughter of William and Minna Baumgartner Andress.
She was married on March 18, 1939, to Glen McBride; he died on May 21, 2008.
She had worked for Schafer Glove Co, in Decatur and for Jay Carment Co. in Portland.
She was a member of the auxiliary organization at American Legion Post 43 in Decatur.
Surviving are two sons, Roger McBride (and wife Sue) of Portland and Charles McBride (and wife JoAnn) of Columbus, Indiana; two daughters, Berna Deane Derrickson of Portland and Mrs. Richard (Glenna Jo) Weiland of Decatur; three sisters, Pearl Edna McMillen of Berne; Vera Andress Dusseau of Foley, Alabama; and Donna Rose Wilson of Mt. Etna, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Andress of Fort Wayne; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Floyd Andress, and by one sister, Ruth Studebaker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland, with Pastor Rich Secor and Davd McClellan officiating.
Burial will follow in MRE Cemetery, rural Berne.
Visiting hours are 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to State of the Heart Hospice.
