Grace I. Green

    Grace I. Green, a longtime resident of Decatur, died at 2:15 a.m. Monday in Swiss Village Retirement Community in Berne.
    She was born in Fort Wayne on November 17 to John R. and Mabel A. Hyde Savieo.
    She married Richard D. Green on September 16, 1944, in Monroeville; he died on June 12, 2000.
    Grace was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Women of the Moose at Lodge 1311, both in Decatur.
    Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Matt (Karen S.) Carroll of Decatur; one son, David A. Green (and wife Deb) of Fort Wayne; one sister, Mary Kathryn Wills of Monroeville; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kimberly Green.
    A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Rev. Marcia Cline officiating.
    Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to First Presbyterian Church in Decatur and to Swiss Village Retirement Community.
