Goulet snags another golf title at C.Creek

Bob Goulet won his eighth City of Decatur Men’s Golf Championship over the weekend shooting a 72 on Saturday followed by a 75 on Sunday at the Cross Creek Golf Club.

It was his second victory in 2014 as Bob was also the winner of the Adams County Championship earlier this season. Playing from the championship tees Bob made a birdie four on the 18th hole to secure the victory.
“I feel fortunate to win any tournament with the caliber of players I compete with on the golf courses in Adams County,” stated Goulet. “I appreciate the support of family in all my golf endeavors.”
Second place in the men’s championship flight went to Dr. Mike Ainsworth who ended up just two shots behind Bob at a 149 total. Keith Blythe finished third recording a 150 total.
In the Ladies City Championship Flight, Brenda Shifferly captured the crown by shooting a total score of 166.
“I played steady and consistent golf shots over the two days of play,” stated Brenda.
Finishing in second place was Morgan Ellsworth shooting a combined score of 171, while in third place was Steph Kauffman who recorded a 176 total.
There was drama in the Men’s Super Seniors (65+) division as John Geels won the flight in a playoff on the first hole of sudden death beating Les Conrad. Both men tied in regulation play at a 160 total strokes.
In the Men’s Seniors (50-65) Division Kraig Hart recorded a grand total of 146 from the white tees topping second place finisher Kermit Summers who posted a score of 156 total........
