After that, no Lady Jets' batter reached base the rest of the game.
Kamio Gilreath hurled her way to a one-hit shutout against Central at home to top the Jets 3-0 in ACAC play.
There were no earned runs recorded in the game as Heritage tallied three runs all on AC errors in the first three innings.
In the bottom of the first, Kendall Knapke reached on an infield single but was caught stealing second base. After a second out, Jennifer Dowler and Gilreath recorded back to back free passes that led to Emma Fifer's RBI the next at-bat when she floated one to left field on a play that was dropped by the AC outfield scoring Dowler.
The errors continued in the second for AC when Lauren Wherry drew a walk to start the frame, then scored three batters later when Knapke reached on a throwing error. In the third inning, Dowler tripled for the only extra base hit in the game. After Gilreath walked again, she stole second base and the throw went into the outfield scoring Dowler easily.
Madi Schwartz shut down the Patriots in the fourth, then Abby Busse came on in relief allowing just one hit in two innings with a K. Schwartz went four innings taking the loss allowing three hits for zero earned runs with five walks and two K's.
Gilreath was stellar striking out six Jets' batters without a walk and retiring the final 24 batters she faced in succession earning the win.
