Gertrude M. Heine

    Gertrude M. Heine, 82, left her earthly home on Thursday, November 4, 2010, and now rests in the arms of her Savior in Heaven.     
    Born on September 14, 1928, in Decatur, she was the daughter of Gustav and Selma Krueckeberg.
    She married Gaylord Heine on April 16, 1950, and resided in New Haven.
    She was a dedicated member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven, and an active member and past president of the Ladies Society and various circles.
    She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her great joys included traveling with her devoted husband, playing cards, and entertaining her family and friends.
     She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gaylord Heine of New Haven; five children, Colleen (Greg) Peters of New Haven; Charles of Sylvania, Ohio; Stanley (Joette) of Fremont, Indiana; Dave (Tammy) of New Haven; and Gwyn (Patrick) of Fayetteville, New York; four siblings, Norma (Ben) Miller, Morris (Naomi) Krueckeberg, and Irene (Gene) Kiess, all of Decatur, and Melvin (Arlene) Krueckeberg of New Haven; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Bryan Peters, and three siblings, Amanda (Dorwin) Dressler and Ester and Truman Krueckeberg.
     The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven, with calling one hour prior. Rev. Paul Shoemaker will officiate.
    Calling will be from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at E. Harper and Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd., 930 East, New Haven.
    Burial will be in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New Haven.
    Preferred memorials are to Emanuel Lutheran Church.
