Genevieve A. "Jenny" Meshberger passed away peacefully during the early morning of Monday, Oct. 10, in her daughter’s home at Fairfield, Ohio.
Jenny had been lovingly cared for during the past eight years by her daughter, Triana (Meshberger) Adlon. Jenny was the wife of previously deceased Roger Meshberger Sr. Jenny, 94, suffered from no illnesses.
She was born in Decatur on January 30, 1917.
She is survived by three of her nine siblings: Irene Agler of Evansville, Indiana; Donald Light of Bruce Crossing, Michigan; and Gerald Light of Decatur.
Jenny and Roger had four children: Roger Meshberger Jr. of Ellenton, Florida; Harry (Sandy) and Kurt (Diana) Meshberger, both of Columbus, Indiana; and their daughter.
Jenny enjoyed visiting with her seven grandchildren: Lori Anne Comer of Pensacola, Florida; Michele Lynn of Neenah, Wisconsin; Dustin Meshberger of Sarasota, Florida; Danielle Meshberger of Indianapolis; Dr. Chad Meshberger of Indianapolis; and Darcy Callaway and Tanner Meshberger, both of Columbus, Indiana. She also had seven great-grandchildren.
Jenny lived in the same home on Artist Dr. in Nashville, Indiana, for over 55 years. She was a member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority, an associate member of the Nashville Art Gallery and operated an antique business (The Garret) for a few years in downtown Nashville.
After collecting antiques for a lifetime, she gifted all of her cherished belongings to her children and grandchildren before moving to live with Triana fulltime in Fairfield.
During the World War II years, Jenny and Roger lived in Vancouver, Washington, where she raised her first two sons and Roger worked in the Kaiser Ship Yards building Liberty Ships for the war effort. After the war, her family moved from Berne, Indiana to live in Brown County, Indiana, where her husband, Roger, was a co-founder of the Meshberger Stone Company in Columbus.
