Geneva hires school resource officer

January 2, 2014

The Geneva Town Council conducted a brief end-of-the- year meeting Monday evening to swear in a new school resource officer, appoint new terms and individuals to various positions within the town’s government, and adjust year-end budget appropriations.
Connor F. Bonestell, a reserve with the Geneva Police Department the past two years, was sworn in by Geneva Clerk Treasurer Bill Warren as the new school resource officer for South Adams Schools as the first order of business, following the approval of last month’s minutes. Marshal Rob Johnson informed councilors the Geneva Safety Board had originally met on Dec. 3 to consider new candidates for the position, and following physical agility testing and various law enforcement examinations, Bonestell was selected from among six candidates who applied for the position.
Bonestell will begin his new duties Jan. 6 at South Adams Schools, following the resumption of school activities after the holiday break.
