Geneva fire truck repair is given OK revamp

May 9, 2013

In addition to his regular monthly report, Geneva Fire Chief John Patch presented a couple of requests to the town council at its monthly meeting.
Patch said that he had been asked to hold a tractor pull on Decatur Street during Geneva's summer end festival. The council gave its permission, provided the pull doesn't interfere with the other activities, and advised Patch to coordinate with Chamber of Commerce President Pam Krause.
The fire chief also said that a pump is leaking on one of his trucks because of a bad seal, and he was quoted $2,500 to repair it. Patch added that the problem will only get worse if it is not addressed.
Clerk-Treasurer Bill Warren noted that even though the Garage and Motor General Fund is low at present, he doesn't like the idea of having a fire truck out of order, and he advised the council to have it repaired. The council approved the decision.
