Garald A. Lutz

    Garald A. “Gary” Lutz, 62, of Geneva, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Portland.
    He was born April 9, 1950, in Elkhart, to the late Ramon R. and Wilma M. “Polly” (Kline) Lutz.
    Gary was employed as a machinist for more than 35 years with several manufacturers in the northwest Indiana area. He enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting and playing billiards.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
    Among survivors are his sister, Betty Nelson of Elkhart; three brothers, George R. (Mary) Lutz of Fort Wayne, Harold P. (Phyllis) Lutz of Warrenton, Va., and Dan L. (Susan) Lutz of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
    Gary was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas H. Lutz.
    Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, also at the funeral home, with Dr. William H. Hemmig officiating.
    Burial will be held on Thursday, April 11, at noon in Vistula Cemetery in Bristol, Ind. In accordance with his wishes, the cremated remains of his dog, Sandy, faithful friend of 15 years, will be buried with him.
    Preferred memorials are to Family Hospice Care of Berne.
