St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur held its annual Fall Festival over the recently-completed weekend. Festival spokesperson Judy Converset said the event was “bigger than ever. We sold more than 300 wristbands to children on Sunday alone and assuming they all had parents or grandparents there we are looking at a lot of people.”
The money benefits parish activity as determined by the board. Money is also given to support the Adams County Community Foundation as well as Callithumpian and the St. Joe School. The event’s success is in large part due to the 200 volunteers that give a couple of hours of their time to set-up, run activities, cook or clean-up, officials said.
