Friedt to be honored before Tuesday opener

    A special ceremony honoring the late John Friedt will be held Tuesday prior to the opening wrestling match of the season for Bellmont High School, against Columbia City.
    A new wrestling mat honoring the contributions of Friedt will be dedicated after the starting lineups are introduced.
    Friedt's wrestling shoes will be placed at center mat.
    Local businessman John Kintz, who wrestled under coach Friedt, will offer remarks. Columbia City's wrestlers and fans will wear blue ribbons to honor Friedt,
    The rifle room on the floor above the gym will be open before, during and after the meet as refreshments will be served.
